“Violent Regime Change in Iran by Freedom Fighters Tancredo advocates U.S. support for the Mujahedin-e Khalq (MEK), a cult-like group that is cultivating a broad base of support among Iranian expatriates around the world. Mujahedin e-Khalq means ‘people’s freedom fighters.’ MEK affiliates are the Iraq-based National Liberation Army of Iran and the National Council of Resistance in Iran. MEK calls itself the People’s Mujahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI).

Having known nothing about Iran's interior condition and impressed by Masoud Rajavi's lies, demagogueries and false analysis, the MKO elements vainly thought that they only needed to get to Iran and then in a short time, they could easily topple the Iranian regime with the help of Iranians themselves and without any grave resistance; but fully unaware of the real atmosphere in Iran, everything was unlike what they imagined and instead they faced tough public resistance

The lawmaker further described the US president's message of condolence for the death of the civilians in the terrorist attack as "political hypocrisy", and stressed that the message can never hide Washington's role in organizing the terrorist attack. Dehqan further slated the US support for the anti-Iran terrorist group, the Mojahedin-e Khalq Organization (MKO), as well as its aids and supports for the Israeli regime which is a harbinger of state-sponsored-terrorism.

What MKO did, it even outstripped shah’s SAVAK in terms of its persecution of its opponents. Kurdish Regional Government should press charges on moral grounds against MKO for joining Saddam's army during the Iraqi-Iran war (1980-1988) and helping the dictator in suppressing Kurdish 1991 uprisings and massacre of Iraqi Kurds. MKO is responsible for numerous acts of terror, violence, assassination attempts against Kurdish civilians and government officials in South Kurdistan.

From 2005 to 2008 DLA Piper was paid $910,000 to lobby for the MEK. Armey said in a 2007 article in {The Hill}, "Supporting the democratic opposition holds great promise for promoting the cause of freedom and democracy in Iran, particularly the group feared most by the regime (MEK)." Armey's hostilities with Iran continued until the summer of 2009, when he resigned from the firm, his attempt to manipulate the rising Tea Party conflicting with public exposure of his dirty role with DLA Piper.

Tanter has been a key advocate for U.S. support of the People’s Mujahedin Organization (MEK), which has been on the State Department’s list of international terrorist organizations since 1997, after it assassinated six U.S. citizens involved in selling weapons to the Shah. Shortly after the U.S. invasion of Iraq, Tanter vociferously pushed this argument, claiming that supporting the MEK could replace a U.S. invasion of Iran.

Hojjatoleslam Hossein Ebrahimi emphasized: “America’s perpetual conspiracies against the Islamic Revolution shows that they well understood the danger and we should deal with their intrigues and make them fall flat through more carefully observation and wisdom. Then we would be able to keep safe our country and people. He pointed to the evidence which shows that the type of terrorist incident occurred in Zahedan is similar to those of MKO...
