Iraqi security forces have stormed the base of the anti-Iranian terrorist group the Mujahedin-e-Khalq Organization. An Iraqi military official has said that Iraqi forces have taken complete control of the camp. Sixty members of the Mujahedin-e-Khalq Organization (MKO) had entered Afghanistan with the help of intelligence forces from the United Arab Emirates with the aim of carrying out raids in Iran, Pouya News reported on Sunday. The group, which was faced with strong resistance from the Iranian troops stationed on the border attempted to withdraw when it came under heavy Taliban fire from the Afghan side.

Soon after the attack, Abdulmalik Rigi admitted during an interview with a US-based satellite TV station that his group collaborated with another anti-Iranian terrorist group, the Mojahedin Khalq Organization (MKO).
