As the US-Israeli bombardment of Iran intensifies, with schools and hospitals deliberately targeted and hundreds of civilians — including children — killed, a powerful wave of international solidarity has emerged. From Ireland to Bahrain, Egypt to Italy, prominent activists, former parliamentarians, academics, and writers have condemned the campaign as immoral, illegal, and barbaric. They denounce it as a war of extermination driven by imperial ambition and express unwavering support for Iran’s right to self-defence and its people’s resilience.
1. Irish Anti-Imperialist Activist: “Stay Strong – Your Day of Victory Is Coming”
Stephen Roche, a member of Social Rights Ireland and anti-imperialist activist, has added his voice to the millions in Europe and North America who are “sickened” by the criminal actions and complicity of their own governments.
Roche extended a powerful message of solidarity to the Iranian people, who he said are enduring the same horrors previously inflicted on Palestine, Lebanon, Syria, Libya, Iraq, Yemen, and Afghanistan. He expressed deep admiration for Iran’s resilience in the face of decades of economic warfare, proxy wars, and sabotage.
“The vast majority of people here in Europe and North America do not support the terrorist acts being committed against ordinary Iranian people by our governments,” Roche stated. He urged Iranians to “stay strong, stay resilient,” and ended with the words of Irish revolutionary Bobby Sands: “Tiocfaidh ár lá — your day of victory is coming.”
2. Irish Palestine Liberation Activist: “To Stand with Iran Is to Stand with Humanity”
Dorothy Collin, an activist with the Irish Palestine Liberation movement, has declared that standing with Iran means standing with humanity itself and recognising the existential threat facing all people.
“To stand with Iran is to stand firmly against western imperialist powers and their allies rampaging across the Middle East who will not stop until they are forced to,” Collin said. She described it as standing for matriarchy and the principle that “each child is every child,” warning that the forces slaughtering Iranian children, mothers, and fathers will eventually come for everyone.
Collin offered heartfelt solidarity to Professor Marandi and all truth-tellers, concluding with the Irish phrase “Saoirse don Domhain” — Free the World.
3. Egyptian Analyst: 2026 Will Be the Year of Iran’s Victory
Dr. Ahmed Mostafa, Egyptian analyst and head of the Asia Studies Center, has affirmed full support for Iran, declaring: “We are all resistance. We all stand with Iran against this vile American-Zionist aggression.”
Dr. Mostafa drew a powerful historical parallel: “Just as the 10th of Ramadan was the symbol of Egypt’s victory in the liberation of the Sinai, the year 2026 will be the year of Iran’s victory over the Zionist regime.”
4. Bahraini Human Rights Leader: Iran Is Exercising Its Legitimate Right to Self-Defence
Baqer Darwish, Head of the Bahrain Center for International Human Rights, has strongly defended Iran’s right to legitimate self-defence under international law.
Darwish emphasised that Article 51 of the UN Charter grants every state the inherent right to defend itself against armed aggression. He called on the peoples of the region to show solidarity with Iran and firmly oppose the US-Zionist war, which he said aims to divide the region and plunder its resources.
He demanded the withdrawal of the US Fifth Fleet from Bahrain and all American military bases from the region, describing the targeting of civilians, children, students, homes, hospitals, and cultural sites as gross violations of the Geneva Conventions and clear international war crimes that demand accountability.
5. Prominent Palestinian-Syrian Writer Hassan Hamid: Iran Is “Our Impregnable Fortress”
Hassan Hamid, a prominent Palestinian-Syrian writer and member of the Arab Writers Union, has issued a powerful message of gratitude and solidarity toward Iran.
In a deeply moving statement, Hamid declared: “I am a Palestinian writer. I have lived, read, and learned. For the sake of my people, I have made enemies and friends alike.” He recounted how Iranians have mourned Palestinian martyrs, treated the wounded, and educated generations of Palestinian youth who graduated as respected professionals.
Hamid praised Iran for establishing International Quds Day, incorporating Palestinian literature into its schools and universities as noble work confronting oppression, and organising festivals of resistance literature. He highlighted Iran’s logistical support that empowered Palestinian fighters and instilled fear in Zionist soldiers.
“From the very first days of the Islamic Revolution until today, Iran has treated the Palestinian cause as one of its highest priorities,” he said. Without Iran’s support, the Palestinian resistance would not have achieved what it did in the Intifadas or the Sword of Jerusalem battle.
“Because of all this,” Hamid concluded, “we, the Palestinian people and Palestinian writers, regard Iran not only as our backbone, but as our impregnable fortress. Long live freedom. Death to oppression. Victory belongs to the people of resistance and dignity.”
